TOPIC: Nice thing to have!

Nice thing to have! 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 2
Having been involved in the festival from an early stage, and responsible for the live sound
and leading the record attempt on the day itself, its great to have this as a permanent
reminder of the day.

The CD does two things (in addition to the excellent packaging and branding) - it both captures
a lot of the excitement and atmosphere of the day, while revealing all the detail of some great
performances which were hard to appreciate on the day because of the challenging acoustic of
the Devonshire Square atrium. So lots of respect to the production/mastering on the CD and I'm
glad that the raw recordings we took from the desk on the day were good enough to work with.

I'm not going to single out any particular tracks as I enjoyed them all, but it was great to hear the
Uke Gangstas as I missed their whole act as I busy busy with stuff on the other stage.

If you were there, get one to keep and one to give someone who wasn't.

Nick has summed up the CD well. It IS a great permanent reminder of the day and does capture the atmosphere. Nick did a great job with the mix as the sound in Devonshire Square was not good - I can actually hear the songs now!

We would all, we think, love to thank Nick for the free mix of the world record song... and dealing with the challenging venue and still having time, along with Uncle Rufus, to be a world record musical director! Great lesson.

And would like to thank Tony Platt whose fresh ears and experience put the Album's mix and production together. ( some general points Tony made on the ukulele music genre are summarized here )

Great job by all involved and thank you for your kind comments.
